I personally really like assessing with a rubric. Similar to what has been provided in ETEC 424 class, a rubric is a way for a teacher to assess their student's assignments. If the student has complete everything on the rubric then that student will receive full credit. I enjoy using the rubric as an assessment tool because it allows the students to be a little creative with their assignment but still having to follow the given instructions. Every assignment in the class had a rubric we had to follow but every student's assignment was different and had our own unique style, especially our blogs and ePortfolios.
I've learned quite a bit in my ETEC 424 class when it came to integrating technology into the classroom. I favorite part of the class was getting to create our own educational blogs. I've personally always wanted to create my own blog so it was quite fun. It allowed everyone know more about me, in the educational setting, but letting me personalize the blog also and not being too professional. Me being a physical educator, technology doesn't really play a major role but this class allowed me to find new and unique ways for me to expand my classroom with technology. I really enjoyed creating the interactive powerpoints, blogs, and ePortfolios. I would like my students to create their own personal blogs that they will have to update weekly about what they've learned about physical education.

Web 2.0 Applications!
To be honest, I had no clue what web applications or what they did for our education prior to this assignment. After reading the instructions, I now know that I've actually been using several different types of web apps all the time. The "web 2.0 applications" title fooled me a little I guess. Some of the earlier assignments for my ETEC 424 class included working with different web apps such as blogs, wikis, and my online eportfolio could be included too. I've also had to use different web apps to do search for information needed across the internet. There is this process called "social bookmarking" that I enjoy because, basically, you find something that you want and tag it which allows for other people looking for similar information to find it easier. This process seems to be real convenient for online research. Another type of web app is called "voice thread" which really blew my mind because I had no idea how to use it. After watching the example with the students using voice thread for the history project, I thought it was pretty cool to use. I can definitely see the major advantages to using voice thread within the classroom across the world.
The impact in today's education, with these web apps, is humongous! First off, the "social bookmarking" tool can be real convenient for everyone across the world because it allows for anyone to find the information quicker if someone else has found it and tagged it. I can see where this could be use on a research project with a specific topic already given to the students. The "voice thread" tool is the best one out of the examples because it can tie cultures, religions, and races together for educational purposes. It was amazing to watch and hear what the kids were doing with it in the example. Like I previously stated in my prior assignments, technology can be very convenient and beneficial if the teachers could somehow incorporate it into their curriculum more. GO WEB 2.0 APPS!

Copy-Right, Fair Use, Cyberbullying
Before this assignment, I had little prior knowledge about copy-righting and cyber-bullying but I didnt think it could get this specific. Copy-righting examples were very specific but after I read the question and found out the answers, everything seemed fair and only made sense. Since I've been in college, the only thing that I've heard from my professors were to not steal anyone's materials. I wouldn't know what to do if I contribute something useful to the public and have someone else take credit for it. As I gaze over the cheat sheet that was given, I was amazed at how many steps you would have to use to be safe from copy-righting infringements but I understood that it was very much fair.
I did enjoy the facts about copyright and fair-use policies along with the BullyingUK. It would be interesting to see how they come up with the specific guildelines to using other people's materials and how much of it you can actually use. My favorite parts were about the use of music and motion media, I didn't know any of this information prior to this blog. Cyber-bullying is something that I know a little more about. Basically, it is exactly what it sounds like. Th internet is a huge source of information and networking for our students and for us, it is a dangerous place. We as teachers need to tell our students about all the ways people will use the internet to harm others. The internet can be an outlet for anything nowadays, even bullying.
The information that I've learned today is something that needs to be passed along to all my future students. Like I stated earlier, internet is an important source and place for students to go and we need to learn how to use it without abusing it. Whether it is borrowing someone's work or networking with friends, there are proper ways to doing it and the websites given along with the cheat sheet are good examples of how to do it. It is nice to see someone put a group together on Facebook to stop cyber-bullying, this is a clear example on how to use an internet source for good a reason to the max!

Integrating Technology with Huy Nguyen
My name is Huy Nguyen and I'm a senior at Texas A&M Commerce. My field of study is all-level kinesiology and I'm cuurently taking an integrating technology into the classroom (ETEC) class. I enjoy being active and participating in intramural events at the local rec center while also being an active brother in the Kappa Sigma fraternity here on campus.
I would like to see today's classroom more upgraded and advanced. Technology can contribute in many different ways and I feel like it could only help with progressing our student's education. Our current students attending school are very much connected with technology (cell phones, computers, tv) that it would only make sense to incorporate something that is a everyday part of their lives into the education.
This ETEC class is very important to my teachings for the future. Even though I'm just a physical educator, I feel like I can still use technology to my advantage. For example, the student's could use technology to create their own workout plans that they can keep up with outside of class. I would like to use this class as a jump start into running a classroom in the near future.
